A B Miller, of Killeen, Texas, passed away on August 28th, 2026. He was 94 years old. A B was born on June 3, 1932, to Jim and Maude Miller (Knox), in Calhoun County, Alabama. 

Mr. Miller was a man who lived life in a way that was true to himself. His personality could best be described by the song “My Way,” by Frank Sinatra. He proudly served his country in the United States military, including service in Vietnam, and later retired from the military. After his military career, he continued working in the community, working as a manager at the Cowhouse Restaurant and Hotel, for Killeen ISD, Rockwall Industries in Belton, and Bealls in Killeen. 

He had many interests he enjoyed, including bowling, fishing, cooking, and baking in the kitchen. He was a longtime Killeen High School football fan and a Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed singing and was a member of his church choir, where he could share his voice and his faith with others. 

More than anything, Mr. Miller enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Time spent with them was something he truly treasured. Whether he was cooking, watching football, fishing, singing, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, he found happiness in the people and pastimes that meant the most to him. He lived a full life, made plenty of memories along the way, and, fittingly, did it “his way". 

During his military service, Mr. Miller earned numerous awards, decorations, and qualifications in recognition of his service and accomplishments. His honors include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Korean Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, along with a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster. He was also awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Sharpshooter Weapons Qualification Badge, and Rifle Qualification Bar, reflecting both his combat service and weapons proficiency. A B earned these awards throughout his three tours in Germany, Korea, Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington, Fort Riley, Kansas, and Fort McClennan, Alabama, before retiring at Fort Hood, Texas. 

A B is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Maude Miller (Knox); wife, Jennie Miller (Calloway); brothers, Freeman Miller, L J Miller, and Eunice Miller; sisters, Eva Miller, Gaynelle Miller, Catherine Coleman, Maurine Kilpatrick, Laurine Clayton, Selphine Rawls, and Betty Bell; daughter, Anginald Fletcher; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Miller; and son-in-law, Gregory Harkness.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, James Miller; sister, Jessie Mae Curry; children; Neal Miller, of Austin, Annette Poindexter, of Killeen, Cynthia Sartin, of Buford, South Carolina, Anthony and wife Charlene Miller, of Lancaster, James Edward Sr. and wife Darlene Miller, of Waco, Judy Clark, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Barbara Miller, of Killeen, and Rosalind Harkness, of Killeen; grandchildren, Joshuwuan Cole, Bernard, Nicole, Mashecia, Greg, Casandra, David, Deanna, Antoinette, Desiree, James Jr, Iisha, Ilisa, Travis, Treva, D’Anthony, Jaylon, and Justin; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Enhabit Hospice and the staff of Rosewood Assisted Living Facility for the care that they provided, as well as Geneva Parish, and Kim Tillis-Davis, Tabernacle of Praise of Killeen, Greater Vision of Killeen, and Westside Baptist Church of Killeen.

A B’s family invites family and friends to join them for a time of visitation at 11:00AM, on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 12:00PM. Following the funeral service, A B will be laid to rest at the Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery, in Killeen, Texas.
