Al Freed was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was born October 2nd 1941 and went to rest February 23, 2012 at the age of 70. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to
Frank Albert and Edna Mae Freed.
Al was an accomplished and honorable man with a kind, caring heart. He was a hero to his family and his country. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the army for more than 18 years. He was a recruiter for the army and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After his service he went on to pursue a career in marketing and insurance.
Al was a charming man who always had a story to tell. He loved nature, fishing, and was quite The Gadget Man..
He is survived by his wife Joyce Freed Son James Al Freed of Portland TX Daughters Elizabeth Shelling of Portland TX, Gina Krause of Florence TX, and Angela Citrano of Georgetown 14 grand children and great grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings brothers, John Freed of Clarksville TN, Curtis Peters of Willis TX, , Larry Don Freed of Poscasd OK sisters, Frankie Ann Robbins of Willis TX, and Louise Phillips of Sacramento CA, And stepmother Ila Freed of Willis TX.
