Almeta Farris

Services for Almeta Lee Farris, 84, of Killeen will be at 10 a.m. Friday at HarperTalasek Chapel in Killeen. Interment will be at Killeen City Cemetery with Rev. Weldon Hicks officiating. Mrs. Farris died March 27, 2010, at a nursing center hospital.

She was born Aug. 17, 1925, and educated in Waco. Mrs. Farris lived in Killeen since 1948, a homemaker whose hobbies included arts and crafts and fishing. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary 3892 and a member of the Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Farris was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Bill Hewett her husband, Wesley Buck Farris a son, Cecil Hamilton a daughter, Vivian Hamilton Dishman three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Gillen of Killeen, Dorothy Barga of Allen brothers, Herbert and Danny Boyett, both of Waco sister, Nadine Ovalle of Waco 12 grandchildren 19 greatgrandchildren and many greatgreat grandchildren.

Memorial donations can be made to a church of your choice in memory of Almeta Farris.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements
