Services for Alvin Hale, 59, of Killeen will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Shaun L. Moton officiating. Burial will be in Killeen City Cemetery.
The earthly life of Alvin Hale began on February 24, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Born the eighth child of eleven children who survived infancy to the parental stewardship of Silmond and Essie Mae Stephens Hale, Alvins birth was a prelude to the birth of his twin brother Calvin.
The blessing of being reared in a God fearing home afforded him an abundance of biblical teaching resulting in his appreciation for the Word of God. The fruit of godly inspiration and instruction resulted in him securing his eternal destiny by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. His love and appreciation for melodic truth delivered in song often served to enhance his personal convictions for the Word of God. Some of the significant and many songs that etched an indelible mark upon his heart amid life encounters and experiences are: He knows my name He hears me when I call and Nothing shall separate me from the love of God. Whether attending church with his grandmother and or his mother at the Greater New St. Luke Baptist Church where he was saved and baptized the consistency and continuity of his fellowship with the Saints in worship contributed much strength and inspiration to his life as a child of God.
Alvin attended public schools in New Orleans. He lived an active life and held a number of jobs including that of a French Quarter tour guide buggy driver, and a mechanics helper. His various activities allowed him to travel to many parts of the country, but he always returned home to New Orleans where he remained until relocating to Killeen, TX after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Under the providence of Divine design, Alvin was reunited with his twin brother and, other family members. His unique passion, personality and initiative served to be a tremendous source of strength and encouragement to his Aunt Elizabeth while she lived in Killeen and he was distinguished as a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews residing in Killeen.
Shortly after arriving in Killeen, he united with Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church until health demands exposed him to limitations, dictating the necessity of uniting with a church closer to his residence. Thus, his decision was to unite with the Rivers of Living Water Apostolic Church, Killeen, Texas.
With an unshakable assurance for reaching his eternal destination, Alvin completed his earthly tenure on February 28, 2010, just four days after the celebration of his fiftyninth birthday. Among those preceding his deliverance from this life are his parents: Silmond and Essie Mae Hale brothers: George, James, Michael and Oliver and sisters: Diane and Gwendolyn Hale. Among those who remain to celebrate his earthly and eternal life in anticipation of a glorious reunion at the return of our Lord are his son: Michael Carter Hale New Orleans, LA his daughter, RaeRae Ellis, Houston, TX sisters, Inez Raphael Cassimere, New Orleans, LA Juanita Joseph Thomas, Houston, TX and Mary Aaron Frank, Killeen, TX brothers: Robert Doris Hale, Baton Rouge, LA Silliman Connie New Orleans, LA Roosevelt Roberta San Marcus, TX Donald, New Orleans, LA and Calvin Leatrice Hale Killeen, TX.
