Artemio Moncada Leal

Artemio Leal, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 84 in Austin, Texas. Born on September 1, 1940, in Las Puentes, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Artemio lived a full and vibrant life that spanned decades of dedication to his family and community. Artemio was united in marriage to Hermelinda Leal on May 16, 1973, and together they shared 51 years of love, companionship, and devotion. Together, they built a family that will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Elisa Leal, as well as his siblings, Salvador Leal, Graciano Leal, Hortencia Leal, Samuel Leal, and Rosa Leal, and his daughter Rosa Idalia Leal.

Artemio's memory lives on through his wife, his children and their families: his wife Hermelinda Leal, son Antonio Leal and his wife Crystal Leal, and their children Angelica Ryan and her husband Dustin Ryan, their great-granddaughter Eleanor Ryan; Adrianna Leal and Alejandro Leal. He is also survived by his daughter Narcedalia Danas and her husband Robert Danas; his sons Paulo Leal and Victor Leal; his siblings Humberto Leal and Rosaura Leal.

Throughout his life, Artemio was known for his strength, his kindness, and his unshakeable devotion to his family. He worked hard to provide for his loved ones and always made time to offer guidance, wisdom, and love to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

A viewing will be held on February 3rd at Harper-Talasek from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held on February 4th, 2025 at 10:00 am at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home at 506 N 38TH St Killeen, TX 76543 followed by a burial at Killeen Memorial Park at 3516 Lake Rd Killeen, TX 76543.
