Assunta Tomaka

Funeral Services for Assunta Tina Tomaka, 78, of Nolanville, will be held Monday, May 12th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church with Father Matthew officiating. Interment will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans cemetery.
Tina was born on November 2, 1935 in Buffalo, New York, to Peter and Assunta Guliano. She passed away on Tuesday, May 6th, at her residence with her husband of 56 years at her side, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers disease.

Tina and Karl were married on August 13th, 1957.

Tina devoted her life to her family and to the U.S. Army family. Throughout numerous moves within the United States and overseas, she worked tirelessly to make a home for her family at each duty station and gave her full support to each of Karls assigned units. She graduated from John Carroll University in 1966 with a degree in Education and worked as an elementary school teacher and later as a government service employee. Tina was a devout Catholic and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.

She served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for the sick and homebound.

She is survived by her husband, Karl, her children Paul and Karla and grandchildren, Claire, Danielle, Jonathan, Zachary and Hailey.
Visitation will be at the HarperTalasek Funeral Home, Sunday, May 11th from 6:00 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
