Barbara Joyce Shroyer

Barbara Joyce Shroyer, a cherished resident of Killeen, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on November 15, 1938, in Bell County, Barbara lived a life marked by love and dedication to family.

Barbara was a proud graduate of Killeen High School and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career at Centel Telephone Company, where she eventually retired. Her professional life was marked by her commitment and service, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and customers.

In her personal life, Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Donald Shroyer, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with joy and companionship until his passing.

Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Jesse Truman Havens and Nellie Mae Ratliff Havens; her loving husband Donald Shroyer; her brothers, Billy Earle Havens and Wayne Havens; and her dear sister, Arnell Walker.

A proud member of the Central Texas American Businesswomen’s Association (ABWA), Barbara was known for her active involvement and leadership. She was much more than a member; she was a friend, mentor, and role model to many women in the organization.

Barbara had a passion for life. She loved spending time at her lake house, where she found peace in fishing and gardening. Her talents also included crocheting, a craft she lovingly shared with family and friends.

Barbara was a loving aunt and a great friend to all her neighbors. Her caring and nurturing nature left an incredible mark on everyone she met. Known for her generosity she took exceptional care of those around her.

Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Barbara will be dearly missed, but her memory will be cherished by all who were touched by her life.
