Bernice Perkins

Funeral services for Bernice Perkins, 89, of Killeen, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen with Ray Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Pidcoke Cemetery. BRBRMrs. Perkins died Dec. 2, 2009, in Killeen. BRBRShe was born March 25, 1920, in Bunger, Texas, to W.W. and Ada Ruth Storm. Mrs. Perkins was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Midway Church of Christ as long as her health permitted. BRBRShe was a loving wife of 62 years to Joe W. Perkins, who preceded her in death in 2003. BRBRShe was a loving mother to sons Joe Dewane Perkins, Quinnin R. Perkins and his wife, Linda, Waylan K. Perkins and his wife, Diane, and Elwyn L. Perkins; one daughter, Gwynda S. Lee and her husband, Danny, all of Killeen. She was a loving mama to grandchildren Scott Perkins and his wife, Mar, Jennifer Perkins, Kristy Barnes and her husband, Kyle, Shannon Truitt and her husband, Matt, Alisha Norman and her husband, Chris, Stormy Lee and Kasey Deal and her husband, Billy. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Josie Allen, Paige Yancy Ballentine, Ty Allen, Brady Barnes, Mason Barnes, Avery Norman and Riley Deal. BRBRShe also was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ira Ella Storm, and brother Norman C. Storm. BRBRVisitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements. BR
