Betty Marie Pryor Botton, 88, of Killeen, Texas, passed away on July 28, 2026.

Betty was born on April 28, 1938, in Kemp, Texas, to Annie Elizabeth Pryor and Paul William Pryor. She grew up on a farm in North Texas alongside five siblings. Life on the farm was not always easy, but it provided Betty with many cherished stories, including memories of picking cotton and her father delivering blocks of ice for a living. Betty was the only sibling to graduate high school in the private sector, graduating from Paschal High School in 1956.

Betty met a handsome young Army serviceman, Richard Louis Botton, and the two were married on June 16, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas. Their first child, Russell, was born in Chicago, Illinois. Their daughter Belinda was born the following year in Fargo, North Dakota. After experiencing the heartbreaking loss of a child during pregnancy, Betty and Richard later welcomed their daughter Donna in Minot, North Dakota, where the family spent the majority of their lives.

Throughout her life, Betty worked hard while remaining devoted to her family. As a young woman, she worked at Monnings Department Store and sold Avon and Shaklee products. She also cleaned offices and later worked for Pinkerton Security at the Minot Airport and in customs. She retired from Trinity Hospital, where she worked as a dietitian.

Betty lovingly balanced working with raising her family. She volunteered her time sewing costumes for school plays and helping with her children’s Girl Scout and Boy Scout activities. She and Richard were members of the Eagles Club and the Moose Lodge. Betty also enjoyed gardening, sewing, working puzzles, and staying connected with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren through FaceTime.

Due to health concerns, Betty and Richard moved to Killeen, Texas, in 2008. Following Richard’s passing in 2011, Betty continued to find joy in her family, hobbies, and the many memories they had created together.

Betty is survived by her son, Russell L. Botton; daughters, Belinda M. Botton-Olean and husband, Brent Olean, and Donna L. Botton-Wagner-Griffey; brother, Albert J. Pryor and wife, Margo; sister, Patricia Sue; grandchildren, Cassie Olean-McIvor and husband, Justin, Katie Olean-Eckland and husband, Erik, Megan Wagner-Buskuehl and husband, Joshua, Tanner Wagner and wife, Michelle, Richard “Ricky” Botton and wife, Miranda, and Carissa Botton and husband Mohsen Nasab; and great-grandchildren, Keigan Lennartson, Brody McIvor, Dylan McIvor, Milo Eckland, Dax Eckland, Danny Eckland, Finn Botton, Jett Botton, Charleigh Buskuehl, and Everett Buskuehl.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Elizabeth and Paul William Pryor; her beloved husband, Richard L. Botton; brothers, Lee Pryor and P.W. Pryor; and sister, Mary Oakley.

The family extends special thanks to the hospice team for their care and support, to Dilip and Rebecca for their patience and encouragement, and to the many friends and relatives who listened, offered guidance, and provided a shoulder to lean on during a very difficult time.
