Carlos Rivera

A Celebration of life for Carlos Rivera Burgos of Killeen will be at Harper-Talasek funeral home. Mr. Rivera passed away on December 28, 2018 at Scott & White in Temple. He was born Nov 3, 1935 in Orocovis Puerto Rico. At a young age Mr. Rivera moved from Puerto Rico to Waukegan Ill. where he married his wife Angelita Rivera. Together they raised 4 children. He worked for Abbott Pharmaceutical for 30 plus years.

After retirement he then moved to Killeen, Texas. He also lived in Sevierville TN. for a few years then returned to Texas where he lived for the last 6 years. He enjoyed his time with family and friends playing dominoes and other activities at the senior center. His passion was fishing and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Angelita Rivera, his parents Felix and Monica Rivera, two brothers Justiniano (Joe), Felix Jr Rivera and two sisters, Felicita Martinez and Hipolyta Simpson.

He is survived by his children Ada Martinez, Mayra Rivera, Carlos Rivera Jr. Judy Martinez, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.

Visiting hours are on Thursday Jan 3 from 5-7PM with a brief service starting at 5:30.
