Funeral services for Carmelita Enriquez, 68, of Killeen will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen with Reverend Ken Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Killeen City Cemetery.
Carmelita was born in Killeen, Texas on November 8, 1944. She attended Killeen High School and then entered College where she completed her Associates Degree in LVN Nursing. She worked in nursing over a 30 year period and retired at the age of 66.
Then she proceeded to accomplish her lifelong goal of being an ordained minister through the completion of the SonShip School of Ministry with a 98 percent average.
Her passions included her family, spiritual knowledge and healing, floral arrangements, and ceramics. Another talent of this remarkable women was her ability to create and sew anything. She used these considerable gifts many times for family weddings and other functions throughout her life. She was the type of person who told her young daughters that they were going to build a wall with an archway and when these young daughters asked their mom if she knew how she simply replied, Well figure it out, and the result of this and many similar projects to follow was superb workmanship from a hardworking woman.
It was this determination that allowed Carmelita Enriquez to singlehandedly provide support for her children. She didnt allow negativity in others to bring her down or change her strong spiritual beliefs. She encouraged others to stay strong and was always quick to forgive. She was and always will be the heart and soul of her family. Her smile is forever etched in the mind of her children.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 57 p.m. at the HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
