Caroline Owens

Funeral services for Caroline Mary Owens, 79, of Killeen, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with the Rev. Darrell Feemster officiating. Burial will be in Killeen City Cemetery.

Mrs. Owens died June 13, 2010, at a local nursing home. She was born June 17, 1930, in Portland, Maine.

Mrs. Owens was a homemaker, a mother and a military wife. She was a member of the Veterans of Wars Post 3892 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved life and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Christiansen and Harry Owens a son, Steven Christensen and her mother, Claire Salisbury.

Survivors include sons, Paul Christensen of Commerce, Ga., Peter Christensen of Harker Heights, Neal Christensen of Georgetown and Kyle Christensen of Corpus Christi daughters, Janet Mulcahy of Harker Heights and Ellen Brockett of Rockwall stepchildren, Bud Owens of Harlingen, Raymond Owens and Renee Owens, both of Killeen, Larry Owens of Belton, Yvonne Harkness of Tom Bean, Kathy Griggs of Briggs, Regina Randall of Nolanville brother: Denis Salisbury of Richlands, N.C. sisters: Rosemary Sirois of South Portland, Maine, Bernice Niro of Waterbury, Conn. and several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
