Charles Milton “Suitcase” Simpson Sr. was born to the paternal stewardship of Mr. Thomas Simpson Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Simpson, on August 06, 1937 in Newport News Virginia.

“Suitcase,” as he was lovingly known, professed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Walter McCollough at United House of Prayer for All People, Newport News Virginia. He served faithfully under Bishop Joseph Barksdale. The highlight of his service during his tenure as a member of this fellowship was spent as a faithful Sunday school teacher, and ringing the bell before service. Upon relocating to Killeen Texas (December 15,2012) he united with the Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Dr. Shaun L. Moton.

He lived a life filled with many victories. After graduating high school, he sang bass with the group known as “The Leaders.” Afterward he enlisted in the United States Army, progressing up the ranks of Staff Sergeant. He was a dedicated soldier. While serving in the Army, he received the following decorations: Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) , Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ device 60, Vietnam Service Medal, Cross Of Gallantry W/palm . During his time in the United States Army, he got his nickname “Suitcase,” due to playing sports and traveling to various events during his military career. After retiring from the military he was employed with United States postal service for 20 years.  He faithfully rendered service to Alcoholics Anonymous, where he spoke at various events. For his tireless service devoted to the deliverance of those from alcoholism he received multiple awards / accommodations.

On the morning of August 5, 2021, he departed this life to enter the presence of God from William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home, Temple, Texas.

Those who preceded his departure from the shores of this earthly life are his parents, Mr. Thomas Simpson Sr. and Mrs. Mattie Simpson; son, Minister Kevin Andre Simpson, brother, Thomas Simpson Jr., sisters, Delores Pitman, Eunice Holland.

Among those left to cherish his memories are: his loving and devoted son Charles Milton Simpson Jr of Killeen, Texas; two Grandchildren Imani Simpson and Imari Simpson of Killeen, Texas; And a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
