Chester Jewel (Brooks) Fisher, age 95 of Killeen, passed from this life Thursday, July 11, 2024. A Celebration of her Life will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, at Westside Baptist Church in Killeen, with a visitation starting at 1 pm and funeral service immediately following at 2 pm.

Jewel was born on April 11, 1929, in Rosebud Texas, the only child of the late Chester and Magnolia Brooks. After her mother’s divorce, her mother met and married Alfred Baker. They along with Jewel moved to West Texas, Odessa Texas, and her last place of residence was Kermit, Texas.

Years later, Jewel met Johnny Morrison and they were married. To this union they had three sons, Johnny D. Morrison, Gerry Morrison and Larry Morrison.

A few years later, after that marriage ended, Jewel met and married Joe Lewis Williams. From this marriage two sons, Robert Williams and Michael Williams were born.

Many years after that she met and married Richard Fisher. Richard was in the U.S. Army and was station here at Fort Hood. He was later stationed in Germany. Jewel lived a short while in Germany and then returned to Killeen, Texas where she resided until the Lord called her home.

Jewel was a member of the gospel singing group The Glorious Voices of Glory. She worked at the BOQ on post for 22 years and then she became employed by Walmart. Jewel enjoyed playing softball and bingo, but her favorite game to play was dominos. She also enjoyed watching any football game that was on TV. Jewel was a member of Westside Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her health began to fail and she was no longer able to attend.

Preceded in her death were her parents; twin sons, Gerry and Larry; and grandson, Robert L. Williams, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert L. Williams of Killeen, and Michael Williams of Huntsville, Alabama; her adopted daughter, Mary Johnson of Killeen,22 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many family and friends, including very dear friend, Veronica Chalk.
