Clara Sorensen

December 12, 1924 — June 2, 2010

Nell was born in a log cabin in Snyder, Texas. She was a West Texas cowgirl and sharpshooter, a homecoming queen and a riveter in the Gulf shipbuilding industry during World War II. She was a nursing student when she met and fell in love with John Sorensen, Jr. She is the beloved mother of 4, grandmother of 2, great grandmother of 3, and great, great grandmother of 1. She was an active member of her church, serving on the Vestry and Altar Guild. She was a community volunteer, serving with Families in Crisis and Hospice Services of Killeen.

Her love, guidance, common sense, generous heart, wisdom, great humor, and orneriness will be profoundly missed.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory are asked to contribute to Families in Crisis and Hospice Services of Killeen by sending contributions to St. Christophers Episcopal Church, which regularly forwards funds to these organizations.
