Funeral services for Clarence R. Farmer Zellmar Sr., 76, of Harker Heights will be held at 11 a.m. July 23 at Harper-Talasek Chapel in Killeen. The burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery. BRBRMr. Zellmar died July 20, 2009, at a Temple hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Fargo, N.D. BRBRMr. Zellmar served 22 years in the U.S. Army; he served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. After retirement, he worked for Civil Service for 12 years. BRBRMr. Zellmar helped rebuild Belton Lake and Outdoor Recreation area after it flooded. He married the former Miss Esabell Vogel on January 3, 1953, in Bristol, S.D. They were happily married 56 years. BRBRMr. Zellmar was a member of VFW Post 3892, DAV Chapter 29, First Lutheran Church of Enderlin, N.D. BRBRThe family would like to thank VA Hospice 5th floor and HematologyOncology 3rd floor. BRBRSurvivors include his wife, Esabell Zellmar of Harker Heights; Clarence R. Zellmar Jr. of Temple; William A. Zellmar of Harker Heights; Zachary P. Zellmar of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Norreen Brooks and Taffy Ramirez both of Kernersville, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. BRBRMr. Zellmar was preceded in death by his foster parents, William and Clara Boxrud; and one son, Richard P. Zellmar.
