In Loving Memory of Clayton Lee Gault

March 1, 1948 - October 13, 2026

Clayton Lee Gault, 78, of Moody, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2026. Clayton was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was filled with love, laughter, adventure, and countless cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Clayton was born on March 1, 1948, in Lampasas, Texas, to James William Gault and Ruby Lee Hilliard Gault. He attended Central Texas College and dedicated 40 years of hard work and service to H-E-B before retiring. Throughout his life, he created countless memories with his loving wife, Julia Diana Gault, and the family and friends who meant so much to him.

Clayton was a man who truly knew how to enjoy life. With an adventurous spirit, a love for the outdoors, and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures, he was always ready for his next adventure. Whether scuba diving, spearfishing, fishing, hunting, working on the ranch, or riding motorcycles, Clayton found happiness in the freedom of the outdoors and the excitement of trying something new.

A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, Clayton enjoyed cheering on his team and had a lifelong appreciation for the thrill of drag racing. He loved country music and never passed up a good opportunity to hit the dance floor for a Texas two-step. His love for music, dancing, and adventure reflected his fun-loving personality and enthusiasm for life.

Clayton also had a special passion for genealogy. He enjoyed researching his family's history, discovering stories from generations past, and preserving those memories for future generations. Family history was more than just a hobby to him. It was a way of honoring those who came before him and keeping their stories alive.

Anyone who knew Clayton knew he could tell a good story. He was a wonderful conversationalist with a natural gift for making people laugh. He loved sharing funny experiences, reminiscing about his many adventures, and passing along stories about family and days gone by. Whether his stories brought laughter, sparked curiosity, or simply brought everyone a little closer together, Clayton had a way of making even an ordinary conversation memorable. Through his storytelling, he shared his humor, wisdom, experiences, and love for life.

Above all, Clayton treasured his family. The time spent together, the laughter shared, and the memories created were among his greatest blessings. His family was an important part of his life, and the love he had for them will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, James William Gault and Ruby Lee Hilliard Gault; his sisters, Vivian Marie Parton and Janie Pearl Leffingwell; his son, Frank Robert Carvajal Jr.; and his beloved grandson, Manuel Eric Carvajal Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julia Diana Gault; his brother, Michael R. Gault; and his children, Manuel Carvajal and wife Mary Ann, Tracy Sibole and husband James, Stephanie Little and husband Travis, Steven Trigo, and Matthew Douglas and wife Vivian.

Clayton also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Adrea Martinez, Daveed Sotello and wife Adreana, Frank Carvajal, Javier Trigo, Erica Carvajal, Marisol Trigo, Julian Carvajal, River Sibole, Iris Sibole, Abigail Sibole, and Allison Douglass.

He was blessed with three precious great-grandchildren, Layla Sotello, Logan Sotello, and Lilly Sotello, who brought another generation of love, laughter, and happiness into his life.

Clayton also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He loved them dearly and treasured the family connections, laughter, and memories they shared throughout the years.

Clayton will be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest, welcomed adventure with open arms, and found joy in the things he loved most. From the open waters to the ranch, from the excitement of motorcycles and race cars to the familiar sounds of country music, he filled his years with experiences and stories that his family and friends will carry with them forever.

Although his passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his spirit lives on through the family he cherished, the stories he told, the laughter he inspired, and the countless memories made along the way.

Clayton's life serves as a beautiful reminder to embrace every adventure, find joy in the little things, share a good story, laugh often, and never take for granted the time we have with the people we love.

Forever loved, never forgotten, and always in our hearts.
