Sister Connie Williams was born to the parental stewardship of Connie Combs and Helen Williams on November 20, 1925 in McGregor, Texas. Divine providence sanctified and ordained that she would be reared by her aunt, Pearl Mitchell. She attended public school and graduated from High School in McGregor.
In the tender years of her youth she sealed her eternal destiny when she received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Her relationship with Christ was nurtured through her membership of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in McGregor, Texas.
Her pursuit of a fulfilling life would afford her the blessing of meeting and marrying Carl Hollins in McGregor, Texas.To this union was added the blessing of one son, Carlos Hollins.
The course of many seasons would uniquely lead to the fulfillment of Gods progressive purpose for her life.
Her life would experience significant transitions that would move her from the city of McGregor, to reside in the city of Killeen, Texas in 1969. Here she met and married Clyde Williams.
As a woman of strong moraland professional convictions, she epitomized what it means to serve and work at a standard that pleased her Lord by helping others. Her domestic employment over the course of many years earned her the utmost honor and respect of all those she so devotedly and diligently served.
As a woman of sacred and serious convictions, her love for the Lord and her determination to serve His pleasure would lead her to unite with Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church of Killeen, Texas. Here she faithfully attended and participated in several aspects of ministry beyond weekly worship and Sunday School and, music ministry. The unique fragrance of her personality added a distinct quality to the life of the fellowship at Marlboro. Her witness, wisdom and wit proved to be invaluable to the fellowship in immutable ways. Her witness strengthened the Saints her wisdom sustained the sacred sense of their need for Gods direction and, her wit supplied all of the laughter to quench everyones sadness and or sorrows.
Her incredible sense and appreciation for fashion left an indelible impact upon all those blessed to meet her acquaintance whether it was on a Sunday morning, afternoon or Sunday Wednesday evening experience in the House of the Lord. Her impeccable taste for colors, fabrics and accessories could well be considered the envy of every womans wardrobe. To say that she was a classy and wonderfully sophisticated woman is an understatement. Her outerbeauty was an authentic reflection of the quality of her innerbeing.
On January 7, 2014 Sister Williams answered the gentle call of her loving Savior to enter His eternal Presence. Among those preceding her deliverance from the shores of this earthly life are her parents: Connie and Helen Williams husband: Clyde R. Williams siblings: F. V. Williams, and Alfred Williams.
Among those left to anticipate the glorious reunion at the imminent return of our Lord is a loving son: Carlos Hollins of Philadelphia, PA. grandchildren: Carlos Hollins Jr. of Killeen, Texas, Connie Green of San Antonio, Texas, Tracey Eastland of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Texas, Sterling Hollins of Fort Worth, Texas Cousins: Melba Gray of Denver, Colorado, Nicholas and Jackie Brown of McGregor, Texas several adopted daughters in the Faith, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
