Services for Correnne Robinson, of Killeen, will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen with minister James Haney officiating. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mrs. Robinson died July 6, 2013, at her residence. She was born Nov. 2, 1940, in Allock, Ky., to J.W. and Helen Williams. She married Richard R. Robinson and to this union were added the blessings of three beautiful children, Richard E. Robinson Jr., Command Sgt. Maj. Glenn Douglas Robinson and retired Chief Petty Officer Steven D. Robinson.
She traveled the world as a military wife in places such as Fort Jackson, S.C., Fort Bragg, N.C., Fort Campbell, Ky., Fort Sill, Okla., Fort Lewis, Wash., Fort Bliss twice, Fort Hood four times, Hawaii, and a final assignment in Washington, D.C.
She was a loyal member of the Killeen Evening Lions for 12 years, serving as tail twister in 1998 and other capacities as needed. She earned recognition with several certificates, was a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and a Texas Lions Foundation Fellow.
Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by Richard E. Robinson Jr. her parents brother, Herman Williams and sister, Connie Mae Haggans.
Survivors include her husband, Richard sons, Command Sgt. Maj. Glenn Douglas Lourdes Robinson of New Mexico and Steven D. Higawit Robinson of Kuwait sisters, Mary Charles Collins of Ohio, Lorraine Baker of South Carolina, Pearl James Bates of Ohio, Dailey Smith of Texas and Mary Jerry Tevis of Kentucky brother, Larry Williams of Kentucky grandsons, Elias and Richard D. Robinson granddaughter, Correnne Robinson one greatgranddaughter numerous nephews and nieces special friends, Claudia Rhodes and Pearl Bragg and particularly the Killeen Evening Lions and Lion Council 20002001 and 20042005.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Donor Service Lions Clubs International Foundation, Oak Brook, IL 60523
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at HarperTalasek Chapel. HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
