A celebration of life for CPT Rowdy J. Inman will be held on Friday 4 January at 3pm at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen. Rowdy, a 38 year old Soldier with the US 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment was killed in action on 26 December in Iraq. Rowdy was born March of 1969 in Anchorage, AK.

Rowdy graduated in 2000 from Sam Houston State University with a BS in Military Science. He was commissioned by the US Army in May of 2000. Rowdy and Shannon married in February of 1999. Their family consists of two daughters; Keeley and Casey; and one son Gary.

The Inmans have been stationed at Fort Carson, CO, Fort Hood, TX, Fort Leavenworth, KA, Fort Knox, KY, Fort Bragg, NC, San Antonio, TX, and Camp Pendleton, CA. As a career military officer Rowdy participated in multiple deployments: Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom OIF I, OIF III, OIF V, and Operation Just Cause.

Rowdy's awards included: The Bronze Star Metal with Oak Leaf Cluster OLC, the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Metal with OLC, the Army Commendation Medal with OLC, the Army Achievement Medal with 2 OLC, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Kuwait Liberation Medal Saudi Arabia, the Kuwait Liberation Medal Government of Kuwait, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Combat Action Badge, the Expert Field Medical Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Valorous Unit Award with OLC.

Rowdy is survived by his wife Shannon, daughters Keeley and Casey, son Gary, mother Ann Denny of Austin, TX, father Tony Inman of Gillett, TX, sister Paula Inman of Anchorage, AK, sisters Stacee Henrichs of Leander, TX and Angela Ring; brother Jeff Gurley of Washington DC, brother-in-law Gary Moore Jr. of Harker Heights, TX, and parents-in-law Gary and Mary Ann Moore of Houston. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and numerous other friends and relatives.
