Funeral services for retired Capt. David D. Premo, 72, of Nederland will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Premo died Sept. 21, 2010, at his home. He was born May 21, 1938, in Madison, Wisconsin.
Mr. Premo served 20 years in the U.S. Army before retiring. He also taught education at Killeen High School and Harker Heights High School for 28 years.
His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with palm.
Mr. Premo was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Aletha Premo children, John Joseph Premo and Mary Elizabeth Premo and brother, Darrell Premo.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary E. Premo, of Nederland son, David D. Premo, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, of Rowlett daughters, Sherry Ann Mills and her husband, Stephen, of Nederland, Catherine Mary McCollough and her husband, Jerry, of Temple brotherinlaw William Conover of Nederland 13 grandchildren, and 6 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
