CSM (Ret.) Albert L. Hundley, 83, passed away August 27, 2015 in a Temple hospital, where he succumbed to injury. He was born on July 10, 1932 in Hampton, Virginia to Harvey S. Hundley and Marie L. Leake.
Albert graduated from Phoenix High School in Hampton, Virginia in 1952; shortly after he was drafted in the United States Army and served a prestigious 30+ year career. He is also a combat veteran serving two tours in the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam. Albert was wounded during his first tour in the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart, some of his decorations include: The Legion of Merit, The Bronze Star w/Oak Leaf Cluster and Army Commendation Medal w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters.
Albert married Velmon J. Walker August 1, 1959 in Phoenix City, Alabama and have been happily married for 56 years.
Albert is survived by his spouse Velmon (Pecos, TX), daughter Hope (Richmond, CA), sons Rodney (Killeen, TX) and Dwaun (Navarre, FL). He is also survived by three grandchildren; Rianne, Rodney Jr., and Brandon (Killeen, TX) and one great grandchild Damian (Navarre, FL).
A viewing will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas this Thursday September 3, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas Friday September 4, 2015 from 11:30 - 12:15 PM and the burial will immediately follow at 1:00 at the Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery.
