Services for Curtis W. Kremer, 79, of Killeen will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen with the Rev. Ken Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Killeen Memorial Park. Mr. Kremer died Jan. 15, 2010, at a Temple hospital.
He was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Delmont, S.D. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a member of the Amphibs. Mr. Kremer came to Killeen in 1957. He went to work for the Killeen Fire Department, rising to the rank of deputy chief.
Mr. Kremer owned and operated the Kremer Self Service Conoco Station and opened the first fullservice car wash in Killeen. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9192.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene of Killeen sister, Faith Gunnare of Mitchell, S.D. nieces: Sandra Frier of Scotland, S.D., and Gail Anderson of Arlington, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter C. Kremer and Anna Reinfeld brother, Douglas Kremer and sister, LaVerne Kahler.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
