Services for retired Sgt. 1st Class Dale Bradford Hulbert, 83, of Nolanville, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Harper-Talasek Chapel in Killeen with a military chaplain officiating. Interment will be at Killeen Memorial Park.
Mr. Hulbert died April 2, 2015, at his residence. He was born Aug. 3, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Elmer and Hazel (Coltman) Hulbert. He worked as a stable hand tending to Tennessee Walker horses.
He was a retired sergeant first class in the Army, served 22 years, and did one tour in Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He loved restoring antiques, especially cars, and visiting flea markets. He was an all-around handyman and practical joker who loved anything fast, especially if it made him money. He was a resident of Central Texas for 50 years and a member of the Sheriff's Association.
Mr. Hulbert was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Hulbert; and daughter, Linda Anders.
Survivors include his granddaughters, Amy Halvorson and her husband, James, and Ali Correa and her husband, Robert; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
