Graveside Services with military honors for Dallas Earl Cook, 72, of Killeen will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, with Pastor Sang Hyun Koh officiating. Visitation will be 10A.M. till 2 P.M. Thursday. Mr. Cook passed away October 18, 2015.
Dallas was born in Golden Acres, TX, the youngest of a set of twins. He was a raised and attended school there in Golden Acres and joined the US Army at the very young age of 17.
His military service included two tours of duty in Viet Nam and one to Korea during which he was awarded the following; Bronze Star Medal w/OLC, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal w/ two bronze loops, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal(Korea), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 bronze service stars. Dallas was discharged at Fort Hood in 1975 and moved to El Paso where he met and married Chong O. Lee. He retired from driving a US Mail truck and moved back to Killeen in 2005. He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 29, Harker Heights.
Dallas is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Buena and one sister, Claudette Sweeney.
He is survived by his wife, Chong, Killeen; Sons, Jin Kim, Austin, and Chad Lee Cook, Killeen; brother, Edward E. Cook, Temple; sisters, Ruth Carmouche, Lampasas, Dannie Rogers, Houston, Alice Schmidt, Seguin.
