Funeral Services for David Duenas Perez, 79, of Killeen, will be Tuesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Adam Martinez officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
David was born on September 24, 1932 in Guam to Angel and Ana Perez.
He met and married the former Miss Maria Chargualaf in Guam on July 2, 1955.
In September of 1952 he joined the US Army as an Aircraft Mechanic and served for 26 years before retiring at Fort Hood in 1978. His medals awarded were the Bronze Star Medal Army Commendation Medal Good Conduct Medal Army of Occupation Medal Germany National Defense Service Medal w 1st Oak Leaf Cluster Korean Service Medal Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Korea Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal United Nations Service Medal Vietnam Service Medal w1 silver service star Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w palm Master Aircraft Crewman Senior Aircraft Crewman Aircraft Crewman Badge.
David later worked for Dyna Corp also as an Aircraft Mechanic, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus, and had been a resident of Killeen since 1972.
Left to cherish Davids memories is his loving wife Maria of Killeen sons David Anthony Perez of Austin Donald John Perez Darrell Francis Perez of Hurst. Five grandchildren Erica Perez, Ryan Perez, Psacha Perez, Jessica Perez, and Jayme Perez.
Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Monday, July 2, from 58 pm with a Rosary at 7pm.
