Doris Daugherty

A memorial service for Doris Daugherty, 89 of Leander, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, Texas.

Doris, died August 30, 2021, in Cedar Park, Texas.

She was born December 25, 1931 in Nixon, Texas to Ernest and Bertha Daniels. Her father was a Cattle Rancher, and her mother was a homemaker who raised many kids and grandkids.

Doris met the love of her life and was married to Van Daugherty on January 17, 1950. Together they owned and managed “The Corner Store” in Ladonia, Texas. They were also involved in real estate. They had three children: Michael, Paul, and Chad. Van passed away and in February of 2020 Doris re-married to Jo Patterson.

Doris interests included family, gardening, cooking, and reading. She really enjoyed family gatherings and treasured her time with her children and grandchildren. Doris loves Jesus Christ and enjoyed attending church.

Doris is survived by her sister, Patricia; brother, Wayne Daniels; 3 sons and their spouses, Michael and Debbie Daugherty, Paul and Terry Daugherty, and Chad and Judith Daugherty; and 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Daugherty.

A viewing will held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
