Drexel G. Mosquera, 42, passed away on June 13, 2025, in Killeen, Texas. A memorial service will be held on July 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, 506 N. 38th Street.
Born on November 4, 1982, in Fort Hood, Texas, Drexel lived a life marked by determination and perseverance. He graduated from Ellison High School in Killeen as part of the Class of 2001 and pursued higher education at Texas State Technical College in Waco. In 2008, he earned Associate of Applied Science degrees in Biomedical Technology and Medical Imaging Specialization. These academic achievements laid the groundwork for a meaningful career in healthcare technology. Drexel brought his skills and commitment to several healthcare institutions, including Aramark St. Luke’s Hospital, Universal Hospital Services, and Fresenius Medical Care in Houston. His career later brought him back to Fort Hood, where he continued his work at Darnall Medical Center. In each role, he contributed meaningfully to improving patient care through technology. Drexel accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age at Grace Christian Center and carried that belief with him always. Drexel also found peace in nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Whether fishing along quiet waters or boating under open skies, he cherished the serenity and reflection those moments offered.
He is lovingly remembered by his father, Geno Mosquera; his sisters, Nikaiya Mosquera and Rosenda McDaniel; his brother, Rosendo Mosquera; and close cousins, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Frye.
A man of strong will and resolute spirit, Drexel will be remembered by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
