Edwin Brammer

February 15, 1939 — February 19, 2016

SFC (Ret) Edwin H. Brammer 77 of Killeen passed away Feb 19, 2016 at a local hospital. His services will be Saturday Feb 27, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Harper- Talasek-Funeral Home Chapel with an US Army Chaplain officiating. Interment, with full military honors will be 2:00 P.M. Monday the 29th at The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
He was born Feb 15, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa to William and Josie Ryun Brammer and lived there until joining the US Army in 1956. Edwin retired at Fort Hood in 1977 and went to work in the Gibson's nursery department in Killeen. When that store closed he went to a position with Valero as a sales clerk.
Mr. Brammer was a common man of plain views and simple needs. He was an avid reader and enjoyed his nature walks, and his lottery scratch off tickets.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rodney D. Brammer, and sister Judith M. Heater.
He is survived by two sons, Harvey E. Brammer and his wife Betina,Burleson, TX; Michael R. Brammer and his wife LuAnn, Xenia, OH; daughter Linda Roof and her husband Garrett, Temple, TX; brother, Ernie Brammer, Pella, IA; sister Cathy Riley, Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Erika Roof, Kristofer Roof, Keri Brammer, Austin Brammer, Katlyn Smith, Ashley Smith; great-grandchildren, Colton Brammer, Ambrilla Smith, Jaidan Smith, Kylie Baker, and Noah Baker.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his honor to Paws Humane Society at www.pawshumanesociety.org.
