It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edwina L. Fisher, who left this world peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 99. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen with a visitation from 9 -11 am and funeral service immediately following at 11 am. Burial will be in Killeen Memorial Park.
Born June 25, 1926, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, Edwina lived a life full of resilience and cherished memories. Edwina was the daughter of Fred Otis Pyrdom and Katie Christine Martin. She was an avid bowler, competitive card player, and loved going to casinos to gamble. Her strong-willed nature and compassionate heart touched the lives of many. Her quick comebacks and infectious smile uplifted those around her.
Edwina was preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Fisher, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage; her beloved daughter, Brenda K. Bradford; brothers, J.B. Pyrdom, Fred Pyrdom, and Bill Pyrdom; and sisters, Irene Martin, Dorothy Pylant, Clarbob Bell, and Juanita Leverette.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Register; brother, Charles Pyrdom; daughter, Sharon Gaugler and son-in-law, Conner Lindsey; grandchildren, Thomas Anderson, Todd Gaugler and wife, Heather, and Katie Barbour and husband, Louis; and great grandchildren, Emily Gaugler, Wyatt Gaugler, and Logan Barbour.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the guidance and compassion the Altus Hospice provided during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
