Elena "Helen" Jackson (née Robledo) died peacefully on July 23, 2016 in Belton, TX at the age of 77.
Helen is survived by her children, Joseph "Joey" Jackson Jr and wife Phila of Killeen, TX, Melinda Jackson Gregory of Temple, TX, Estevan "Steve" Jackson and wife Geraldine of Temple, TX. Her brother Pedro Robledo SR of Wichita Falls, TX, her brother Benino Robledo and wife Mary of Austin, TX, her sister in-laws Rosa Robledo of Killeen, TX, and Lupe Robledo of Rosebud, TX. Her grandson Michael Hofstetter of Killeen, TX, her granddaughter Shawnette Simmons and husband Rod of Harker Heights, TX, her great-grandchildren, Chantz Curtis of Harker Heights, TX, Blake Hofstetter of Killeen, TX, Jaxon Simmons of Harker Heights, TX, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Joseph J Jackson SR, her parents Eleuterio and Amada Robledo of Killeen, TX, her brothers Joe Robledo of Rosebud, TX, Antonio "Tony" Robledo of Killeen, TX, her sister in-law Helen Robledo of Wichita Falls, TX and her nephews, Pedro Robledo Jr, Ricardo "Ricky" Robledo, Antonio "little Tony" Robledo and Eleuterio "Ted" Robledo all of Wichita Falls, TX and John Robledo and Estevan Robledo of Austin, TX.
Helen was born on March 26, 1939 in Ben Arnold, TX to Eleuterio and Amada Robledo. She completed her education and obtained a GED in Killeen, TX. She married Joseph J Jackson, a soldier stationed at Ft. Hood, TX on April 13, 1958. After moving to France on assignment with the US Army, the couple welcomed their first child, Joseph J Jackson JR on July 25, 1959. Upon returning to Texas, they welcomed their daughter, Melinda M Jackson on June 1, 1962 and Estevan H Jackson on December 27, 1964 into their home. Her children remember her as a kind, hardworking, loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals by working hard, getting an education and being kind and respectful to everyone.
Helen was a supervisor at the Poxon House on Ft. Hood for over 30 years. She was a teacher's aide at CTC for the ELS program, teaching English as a second language for over 20 years. She volunteered on a regular basis at the Killeen YMCA. She was a generous individual who loved helping others and who was passionate about education and giving people opportunities to better their lives. She was an active and dedicated member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and where she often volunteered.

A family and friends gathering will follow after the service from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at the St Joseph Gymnasium. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Helen's life.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Helen Jackson to Killeen Armed Services YMCA at 415 N 8th St, Killeen, TX 76541. The family would like to thank staff and caregivers at Park Place Manor, Belton, TX and Kindred At Home Hospice of Temple, TX for their care and dedication in her final days.
