Elizabeth Holland

August 16, 1941 — May 9, 2016

The Faithfulness of God is appreciated best when believers live to invest their Faith in Him. The actuality of this truth is apparent through the Life of Elizabeth Jane Holland.
She was born to the parental stewardship of Ervin, and Henrietta Hubert on August 16, 1941 in Hudson, New York. She was reared in the fear and admonition of the Lord and at the tender age of six she secured her eternal destiny by accepting Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She not only accepted Jesus as Savior but, in April of 1947, she began serving Him as Lord of her life in Danville, Virginia.
Her formal education was engaged in the public schools of Brooklyn, New York, Danville, Virginia and Leavenworth, Kansas.
The most significant and special Season of her life beyond her decision to embrace the eternal union with her Savior was when she was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Sylvester Holland. The two were married on September 6, 1957 in Danville, Virginia. This union was graced by God with the blessings of three children.
Sister Holland's life in Christ was readily apparent to everyone blessed to meet her. A woman of dignity, diligence, devotion, discipline and direction; her life depicted a disciple who lived daily in pursuit of a divine destiny. FAITH characterized her walk, witness and work in the Lord! FAITH was more than a matter of possibility but, clearly the product of everything derived from what she was fully persuaded. Her passion for people was driven by the priority of assuring their salvation in Christ, and their subsequent service to Christ! Fearfully and wonderfully made, her enormous heart for so many took on a special assignment to children.
During her Saintly tenure at Marlboro Heights Missionary Baptist Church, she devoted herself to the ministry of the Prayer Band, Women's Ministry and Children's Ministry.
Her ministry to children was in no wise confined to the church but, clearly emanated out of a genuine passion engaged from her home that extended the heart of God for children abroad. Divine providence would order her steps to serve the needs of other congregations in the Body of Christ over the years, leading her to unite with Grace Christian Center where she would maximize her entrusted assignment to Children's Ministry. Here she would invest the last twelve years of her life enhancing the lives of children while serving as a conduit of edification to the Grace Christian Ministry Staff and Church Family.
A woman of keen perception and divine discernment; her earthly pursuit of fulfilling God's purpose was directed by the principles of His Word. Among the innumerable principles by which she lived her life, she was persuaded of the principle assuring the pursuit of A Life of Integrity over and against A Life of Injustice according to Proverbs 22:8. She was equally persuaded of the principle assuring the pursuit of A Life of Prioritizing for Productive Living according to Matthew 6:33. Finally, she was fully persuaded of God's Preview, Preparation and Provision of a Prosperous Life for her on earth that would culminate in a perfect life in eternity according to Romans 8:28-30.
With the consolation of the above in heart, Elizabeth Holland embraced the loving call of her Lord to exit the earthly shores of this life, to enter His eternal Presence.
Among those who preceding her earthly departure are her parents: Ervin, and Henrietta Hubert; and son: Sylvester Holland Jr.
Among the innumerable host of those left to treasure the blessing of her earthly tenure; anticipating the inevitable reunion at the imminent return of our Lord are her loving and devoted husband: Sylvester Holland Sr. of Killeen, Texas; one Daugher: Myrakle Sabrina Cleveland of Houston, Texas; one Son: Sidney Holland (Tory) of Garland, Texas; one Step-Son: Aaron Ware (Lucy) of Angelton, Texas; fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and close friends.
