Erika Maritta Burghgraef (nee Bohnhorst) passed into the arms of the Lord peacefully on November 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Erika was born on January 1, 1943, in Hannover, Germany.

Erika is survived by her adoring husband, Neil Burghgraef and her son, Shawn Burghgraef. Together, they took to loving and caring for Erika in the past years as she was battling the aftereffects of her stroke. Her son Shawn’s love for his mother knew no bounds as he moved back from California and a very good job, to care for her.

Relatives, friends, and the Members of the Alter Rosary Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church are invited to her visitation on Thursday, November 21st from 6-7 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, 506 N. 38th St. Killeen, TX. Rosary to be prayed beginning at 7:00 p.m. led by members of the Alter Rosary Society. Interment to take place on Friday, November 22nd at 9:00 a.m. precisely at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Erika’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Family also wanted to say that they appreciate everyone’s sympathy in their loss but ask for their privacy at this time to grieve.
