Euna Corley

April 4, 1918 — November 6, 2007

Euna Arlene Corley passed peacefully in her sleep at her home at 7:04 AM on November 6, 2007. She was 89, born April 4, 1918, in Trent, Texas. She married Roy Corley, Sr. on November 14, 1936. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1979. She trained in nursing at King Daughter's Hospital and nursed most of her career at Darnall Army Community Hospital on Fort Hood, Texas. She was a long-time member of Killeen's New Sunset Community Baptist Church, where she was church clerk and sunday school teacher. Her hobbies were dress making, quilting, crocheting, cooking, and canning. She was happiest when her home was filled with her family and their friends.

Euna Arlene Corley was affectionately known by family and friends as Nana or Ma Corley. She left us with wonderful memories: we will always think of her with much love and appreciation. A huge hole is left in our lives, but WHAT A JEWEL HEAVEN HAS GAINED. We love you Mom, Nana, Ma Corley and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents: William S. and Margarette Melissa Barnes; husband, Roy Harold Corley; and infant daughter, Melba Ann Corley.

She is survived by daughter Marjorie Belle and husband Duane D. Redding; son, Roy Harold Corley; granddughter, Melinda Woolman; grandson, Jerry Morris and wife Julie; granddaughter, Teresa Kurts and friend Bobby; great-grandchildren are Melinda's children: Christopher, Kraig, Hollie, and Brandi; Jerry's children: Kyle, Tyler, Andrew Chapman, and Jonathan Chapman; and Teresa's children: Brandon, Bradley, Nicole and husband Gorge Diaz; Great-great grandchildren are Christopher's children: Aalysa and Chris; Kraig's son, Blayze; Brandon's daughter, Roxanna; and Bradley's daughter, Josie.

Euna Arlen Corley's family express special thanks to so many who have prayed for us and helped care for Mom during the illness and those who have furnished food. We will be forever grateful for her care by Scott White doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Gil Grimes and his nurse, Joan. Loving thanks goes to the Killeen EMS staff, especially those at the Ave. D station, who always treated Mom and the family like we we were royalty.
