Services for Evelyn Joyce Sosby, 70, of Killeen, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Towers officiating. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.BRBREvelyn died March 25, 2008.BRBRShe was born Feb. 25, 1938, in Maydelle to the late Coy and Ethel Watson.BRBRShe met and married her true love, Jesse Ray Sosby on May 28, 1954. After he retired from the military and civil service, the couple decided to make Killeen their home. They spent 54 special years together until his passing on Jan. 28, 2008.BRBRAlong with raising a family, Evelyn worked many years for Lockheed and Dyncorp at Fort Hood, where she retired.BRBREvelyn was a very loving and caring person who devoted her strength and love to all who had the opportunity to meet and be a part of her life. The love for her family was always most important to her and showed through her gentle compassion and kindness.BRBRShe was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Joy Nell Patrick, formally of Rusk.BRBRSurvivors include her son, Bill Sosby of Austin; her daughter, Glenda Sosby of Austin; her brother, John O. Watson of Palestine; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.BRBRVisitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
