The late, Gabriel Kumai was born on July 7th ,1972 and he was the last born in the family of five boys. He was an intelligent young boy when he left Papua New Guinea in 1993 and he joined Youth with A Mission (YWAM) .
He was the first seed of his tribe and community to be sent abroad doing missionary work. He set an example for his tribesmen to have an adventure in Jesus. He went all over Africa, Europe, and USA to spread the Gospel as a missionary. After many years on a mission, he decided to get married to a beautiful wife (Melinda) in Killeen, Texas.. They were blessed with two wonderful kids, Selena, and Leon, both in their teens now.
Gabriel was a man full of God’s love. He always shared his love to every person that he came across in his life. He never tired of serving people. He was encouraging and supportive and the best dad to his beloved kids.
In the middle of his life journey, he did achieve one of his dreams to be a pilot and flew small planes on several occasions. We will always believe that he had a lot of dreams and visions.
In Spite of this, he was diagnosed with COVID 19, and he was hospitalized for two months. Gabriel fought for his life in the hospital but succumbed to his illness . He went to be the Lord on Friday afternoon at 4pm on August 27th, 2021.
He is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord as we are believing.
