George Jung

Killeen- Services for Mr. George Richard Jung, 74, of Killeen will be held Friday June 17th at 10AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1410 S. 2nd St. in Killeen, visitation will start at 9AM at the church. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
He passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Harker Heights.
He was born Sept. 9, 1941 in Little Rock, Arkansas to George Henry Albert Jung and Ava Gertrude Elliott. He grew up in Little Rock, served in the U.S. Navy, and earned a Master of Library Science. He married Laura Ann Higginson in 1963. He worked as a reference librarian at the Casey Memorial Library on Fort Hood and was recently recognized for 25 years of civilian and military service. He actively served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Laura, daughters Erika Stewart and Karen Miller, nine grandchildren, and sisters Carolyn Droze of Watkinsville, GA and Mary Jo Dalrymple of Omaha, NE.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund at give.lds.org/humanitarian.
Services have been entrusted to Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
