Gladys Reed

Gladys Lenore Reed was born March 31, 1941 in West Point, GA. She attended Tenth Street High School there. She graduated from Central Texas College in Killeen, TX with a major in Nursing. Gladys was a Killeen resident for over 50 years. She was married to the late Joe Nathan Reed of Hempstead, TX.

Gladys was an active member of Anderson Chapel A.M.E Church and also an active member of the Nursing Board for many years. Gladys worked as a registered nurse on the behavioral unit at Darnell Hospital on Ft. Hood, TX. She was an inspiration to all. She was always helpful and encouraging others and leading the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents Abe and Lillian Johnson and her sister Thelma Johnson James. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Barry Dawayne Reed of Killeen, TX; two sisters, Olivia Johnson Martin of Cleveland, OH and Janice Johnson Richardson of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
