A graveside service for Grace Marie Pearson, 73, of Harker Heights, will be at 2 p.m. today at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. BRBRGrace passed away peacefully on Nov. 7, 2009, at Indian Oaks Nursing Home. BRBRThe daughter of Ethel Masterson, Grace was born Sept. 11, 1936, in St. Louis, Mo. BRBRA devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother and great-grandmother, Grace displayed a tenacity and a fighting spirit throughout her life. At the age of 60, she went back to school and earned her GED before opening up a state-certified day care. BRBRNanny loved her day care children like they were her own. Her family takes comfort in the fact that she is in a better place, no longer suffering from the physical afflictions that plagued her throughout her life. We also remember the love and fun we shared with her and the life-lessons she taught each one of us. We will always cherish our time with her. We loved her very much and she will be greatly missed. BRBRGrace is survived by her best friend and husband of 43 years, Argle Pearson of Florence; son, Bob Whitehead and wife, Debbie Doak, of St. Louis, Mo.; son, Steve Whitehead of Cahokia, Ill.; daughter, Sue Whitehead of Harker Heights; daughter, Sheri Procter of Burnet; son, Buddy Pearson and wife, Misty, of Cookeville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Jasmine Crowell and husband, Josh, along with their children Haley, Jade and Tatum of Gatesville; grandson, Adam Mayo of Florence; granddaughter, Crystal Whitehead and her children, Steven, Abby and Joshua of Killeen; grandson, Jacob Pearson and granddaughter Savannah Pearson of Cookeville, Tenn.; sister, Mary Williams of Cahokia, Ill.; and brothers, Mack Masterson of San Francisco, Calif., and Jim Enloe of Exeter, Calif.
