Grant Willes

Grant Leon Willes, born November 19, 1940 in Salt Lake City, UT, was unexpectedly called home on March 27, 2014.
Grant proudly served in the United States Army as an Airborne soldier and parachute rigger for 28 years. His devoted service included 2 years in Vietnam and 12 years as an instructor at the Airborne Department in Ft. Lee, VA. After retirement from the Army he worked as a security manager for 24 years. Always a hard worker, Grant valued and embodied honor, integrity, loyalty and assiduousness. He will not be forgotten by the many whose paths touched his throughout life.
Grant is survived by his 8 brothers and sisters, Emery Hyde Willes, Betty Jane Ball, Carolyne Borges, Dale Willes, Kenneth Willes, Robert Willes, Rikelle Styles, and Kristine Sahely. He also leaves behind his children, Angele Ferrer and husband Gabino, of Killeen, Erike Willes of Nolanville, Grant Madison Willes of Georgetown grandchildren Damien, Samaria, Avalina great granddaughter Kylee Jeane as well as his dearest friend, Bobbie Willes.
Viewing will be held Thursday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Killen at HarperTalasek. Funeral service is Friday, April 4, from 2 to 4 p.m.
