Gregory Byrd

Funeral services for Gregory “Greg” Scott Byrd, 58, of Killeen, will be at 12 p.m. Saturday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen, with the Rev. Weldon Hicks officiating.

Mr. Byrd died October 24, 2022, at home. He was born Feb 10, 1964, in Killeen, to Ronnie Roe Byrd and Julia Janelle Neal Byrd.

He was the father to Ronelle Elizabeth Byrd and Jordyn Dlynn Byrd.

Greg was a hardworking man. He retired from TDCJ on August 31, 2014, after 27 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing, working with his cows and playing with his grandchildren. Any time when family and friends called for help with anything, he was quick to help.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Survivors include his daughters; brothers, Billy and wife Debbie of San Saba and Blake and wife Rae Ann of Waco; grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

It is requested that in remembrance Greg bright personality, attendees are asked to wear lively and bright colors to celebrate the life that he lived.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to services.
