Gwendolyn Diane McVey

Gwendolyn McVey, 70, of Killeen passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. A memorial service will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home on Saturday, September 9 at 1 pm.

Gwendolyn was born on December 25, 1952, in Galveston, Texas to parents, Rita Kirkley and Robert Newland. She retired as a phlebotomist after working at Southland Corporation for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved being able to keep in touch with distant family through Facebook on a daily basis.

Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Thelma Newland of Mesquite, TX, and Harold and Rita Spencer of Tyler, TX; son, Billy Lott and daughter-in-law, Jeanette, both of Tyler, TX.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Jerry Newland of Tyler, TX, and Michael and Cindy Newland of Jacksonville, TX; daughters, Stephanie Lott of Killeen, and LaTonya and Colter Hood of Killeen; grandchildren, Anthony Thomas of Lindale, TX, Matthew Lott of Killeen, Jerard Lott of New Caney, TX, Cody Kelley and Juster Martin both of Tyler, TX, Spencer Emmons, John “Shelby” Hood and Tobe Hood all of Killeen, TX; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
