Helga Elisabeth Morgan

Helga Elisabeth Morgan, 85 of Harker Heights, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 3 beginning at 2 pm at Killeen City Cemetery.

Helga was born on February 25, 1939, in Albshausen, Germany to parents, Georg Arend and Anna Färber. She spent many years as a domestic engineer for many high-ranking generals at Patton Circle on Fort Hood, and was spoken highly of by all she served, and was considered a notable asset by folks in the White House. On June 3, 1958, she married Robert F. Morgan in Frankfurt, Germany. They were 6 weeks short of reaching 63 years of marriage before Robert’s unexpected death in 2021. She loved being Omi to her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Helga’s memory include her daughters, Penny Morgan, Nancy Porterfield, Tammy Melgar, and Cindy Yarborough and her husband, Brian; grandchildren, Michael Whitehead, Bobby Whitehead, Steven Porterfield, Roberto Melgar, Nickalaus Melgar, Kristofer Melgar, Sean Yarborough, and Lauren Yarborough; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen is in charge of arrangements.
