Services for Henry Hank C. Gillin, 85, of Killeen, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Interment will be at a later date in Massachusetts.
Mr. Gillin died Jan. 24, 2014, at his residence. He was born June, 14, 1928, in Boston, Mass. He was educated in Boston, Mass., and received his degree in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for seven years during WWII and the Korean War. His awards include, Good Conduct Medal, Occupation Medal Germany, WWII Victory Medal, Occupation Medal Japan, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Korean Service Medal.
After his service, he went to work for civil service as an electronic engineer for 32 years, working all over the globe. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 147, American Legion Post 223, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3892, 40 and 8, KCOPJ, Temple Gun Club, National Rifle Association and the Gilmore Senior Center.
Survivors include sons, Robert Curran of Arizona, Henry C. Gillin Jr. of Massachusetts daughters, Barbara A. Bernard of North Carolina, Gayle E. Hernandez of Texas, Deborah M. Curran of Oregon and Elaine F. Renaud of Massachusetts sister, Patricia F. Burke of Florida 14 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
He is preceded in death buy his wife Barbara E. Gillin, a daughter, Pamela Merrick, and his parents, Harry C and Frances J. Gillin.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
