Graveside services for Hubert L. Sanders, 88, of Pflugerville, formerly of Killeen, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Killeen Memorial Park, with Peter Gunn officiating.BRBRSanders died Dec. 28, 2008, in a Pflugerville nursing home. He was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Lamar, Okla.BRBRSanders was a resident of Killeen for more than 25 years. He was a meat cutter for civil service at the Fort Hood Commissary. He was a founding member of the Southside Church of Christ. After his wife's death, he moved to Pflugerville to live with his daughter.BRBRSanders served in the Army during World War II. His awards included the Good Conduct Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon with one arrowhead and four campaign stars, American Defense Service Ribbon and Pacific Theater Ribbon.BRBRSanders was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clydie Sanders; his wife, Norma; one daughter, Viva Ann Sanders; and four brothers.BRBRSurvivors include his daughters, Cerrita Rowell of Pflugerville, Merri Sanders-Dawson of Irving; his stepdaughter, Jonnie Calapp of Eagle Mountain, Utah; his grandchildren, Taylor C. Dawson, Breckon A. Dawson, Colter N. Dawson, all of Irving, Jarrod A. McBay of Hutto, Alyssa S. McBay of Austin and Gillian N.
