Services for Jack B. Ray, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lifeway Fellowship Church with the Rev. Jimmy Towers officiating. Burial will follow at Killeen City Cemetery.
Mr. Ray died Oct. 12, 2013, at his home in Killeen. Born on Feb. 23, 1930, Mr. Ray was a lifelong resident of Killeen. He was a civil engineer at Fort Hood for many years, and also operated and ran his own ranch. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Ray is survived by a son, Jim B. Ray of Waxahachie daughter, Missy Berry of Round Rock brothers, retired Col. Webster Chine D. Ray of Temple and D.L. Dee Dee Ray of Troy sister Billie Jane Sprott of Weatherford and grandchildren, Bailee Berry, Zane Ray, Makenna Berry, Brooks Berry and Jhett Ray.
Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Faye Ray two brothers, D.H. Mitts Ray, Jimmy Jim K. Ray, and sister, Lajaun Ray.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at HarperTalasek Funeral Home of Killeen, which is in charge of arrangements.
