Jackie Louis Zajicek passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Copperas Cove. He was 73 years old. Jackie was born to Joe Frank and Lillie Olga Zajicek (Roesler) on September 19, 1952, in Cameron, Texas.

He grew up in Buckholts, Tx on a farm, picked cotton, raised cattle, chickens, hogs, turned wrenches with his dad in his garage and always had a curiosity how things worked. After High School he did 2 yrs of junior college then went to A&M and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. Got a job in Houston at Welex in the oil fields from ‘78-’86. Then in ‘86 got the job in Fort Hood with Operational Test Command, where he worked for 30 years. His time with Operational Test Command took he and Suszanne across the country, and even to Germany.

Jackie loved Theater, whether it be the Cameras, the actors, opera, radio, TV, he was fascinated by the way people could open your mind’s eye. He was a big supporter of the Gilbert & Sullivan Opera. He also enjoyed many hobbies including electronics, trains, and spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his hobbies, Jackie was an avid collector. He collected all sorts of things, but really enjoyed collecting Cub Cadet and his Model T’s.

Jackie is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Suszanne Zajicek (Schneider); and brother, Walter Zajicek (Benny-Marie).

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Tracy Allen(Chris Laguna); grandchildren, Corson and Lillie Allen, and Nathan and Matt Laguna, brother, Joe Dean Zajicek (Bernice); nephews, David, Greg, and Gene Zajicek; friend, Tim Cody and Beth Billups; and numerous cousins.

A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Killeen, Texas. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Jackie will be laid to rest at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Buckholts, Texas.
