Jamie Eugene Hallmark was born on November 28, 1935 in Killeen, Texas to the late Cornelius Eugene Hallmark and Idalee Wells Hallmark. He was a devout Christian and lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Killeen, a loving husband, father, brother and friend to anyone.
Jamie grew up in Killeen attending Avenue D Elementary School and Killeen High School, located at the time on Rancier Avenue, Class of '54. He continued his education at the University of Texas, Austin. He obtained a Geology degree, supporting his lifelong interest in nature and the outdoor activities. He loved collecting arrowheads, barbed wire, bottles, railroad nails, stamps, coins, and Nolan Ryan memorabilia; all have been given to close family members. For the last several decades he was active in local canoe racing, also competing as far as Canada. After retiring from a long career with the Killeen Post Office, Jamie and Joan spent time with family, friends and class members. They enjoyed reunions, gardening and traveling.
Jamie went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2018 in a Temple hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Hallmark; his son, Jamie John Hallmark of Killeen; sister, Jessie and Cecil Webb of Arkansas; nephew, Mark Lively of Colleyville; nieces LeeAnn Briley of South Carolina, DeeAnn Morgan of Arkansas and Nanette Lively of Arkansas; four stepchildren, Jackie Deorsam, Jeff Reding, Jason Reding and Julie Sisk.
