Services for Jeanne Jo Cornell, 61, of Killeen, formerly of Blue River, Wis., will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen, with the Rev. Skip Blancett officiating. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.BRBRJeanne died peacefully Nov. 29, 2008, at her residence, with her husband by her side. She endured a long and courageous battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She was born May 2, 1947, in El Paso, to Eugene and Olive Messmer.BRBRBorn and raised in the military, Jeanne enjoyed all the many places she lived throughout the U.S. and Europe. In 1962, she married Albert F. Venglish, who preceded her in death in 2000. Together they had three children, Nadine, Eugene and Brent.BRBRIn 1996, she was reunited with a long ago friend from the military, Orville Cornell, whom she married one year later and remained with until her death.BRBRJeanne enjoyed her family, reading, painting and crossword puzzles. During the progression of her illness, she especially enjoyed the beautiful water and flower garden her husband created for viewing from her bedside and the companionship of her pets, Crit and Paco.BRBRJeanne is survived by her husband, Orville Cornell of Killeen; her children, Nadine Sweet, Eugene Butch Venglish, both of Muscoda, Wis., Brent Tony Venglish and foster son, Joseph Eisner, both of Boscobel, Wis., and her stepdaughter, Jennifer John Dawber of Germany; her brother, Larry Roberta Messmer of Morris, Ill., and Arthur Dundas of Lake Wilmington, Ill.; her grandchildren, Kyle, Kami and Kody Sweet; Lyndi, Trevor and Skylar Venglish; and Ethan Dawber; her great-grandson, Carter Degenhardt; and many nieces and nephews.BRBRVisitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.BRBR
