Jerry Jerome Gray, age 74 of Killeen, passed from this life Sunday, February 2, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Anderson Chapel AME. Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 3 pm.
Jerry was born on September 15, 1950, to Marcus Calvin Gray and Rosie May Ware in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a correctional officer for many years. Jerry loved horses and his ducks, Eenie, Meenie, Miney, and Mo. He also volunteered weekly for the past seven years at Anderson Chapel Mission House, giving back to his beloved community and supporting the people around him. He enjoyed sports, especially football and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Lastly, Jerry was a jack-of-all-trades and could often be found mending and fixing things for his friends and family, finding ways to help others and lend his expertise to those in need. He was dependable and a true servant of God, sharing his God given talents and gifts with others. He will be truly missed by everyone that was blessed to have known him.
Jerry is preceded by his parents, Marcus and Rosie; brothers, Rodney Lamont Haskins, and Sie Gray; and sister, Rosalyn Gray.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ruby Joyce Gray; son, Frederic Edwards and wife, Erika; daughters, Runette Thomas and husband, Dewayne, and Dianna Gentry and husband, Reaineal; brothers, Ronnie Gray and wife, Donna, and Marcus Gray; sisters, Kelly Price and husband, Willie, and Cassandra Barnett and husband, Ricky; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
